Yoga

yoga1This 10 week course will introduce you to the basic postures (asanas) of yoga. The programme is designed specifically for beginners and people with more experience wishing to refine their practice.
The postures will be introduced in a step by step, non-competitive way using equipment such as blocks and belts to help you get the most out of each class. You do not have to be flexible to practice yoga!
The postures help to develop strength, flexibility and a deeper awareness of your own body. This course will give you the space and time to do this in a focused and relaxed way, bringing mind and body together.
The style of yoga I teach is based on the teachings of B.S.K. Iyengar who was one of the first people to bring the practice to the west from India and is structured around aligning the body in each posture so that they are done in a precise and safe way. By the end of the course you will know how to perform the basic yoga asanas, which can be complementary to a healthy lifestyle and the practice of many sports.

Drawing on her experiences of Yoga, Katherine presents a bespoke class dedicated to the fundamentals of one of the oldest forms of Yoga. Emphasising good practice and a solid foundation to build on
